Portfolio Manager, Assistant Vice President, State Street Investment Management

Role description summary

To manage a range of passive equity funds within the Global Systematic Equity portfolio management team. The role will include all aspects of management for a range of regional and global index equity portfolios including rebalancing, risk monitoring and exposure management. To act as local Matrix Manager responsible for the escalation of Beta related issues within the Systematic Equity team.

This team provides support in all EMEA, North America and Asia Pacific regions and so the role may include working hours to accommodate greater timing overlap with Portfolio Management colleagues in Boston, USA

What we will ask you to do:

• Portfolio Management. You will have responsibility for various daily tasks associated with managing index funds such as: Monitoring tracking, risk and exposure. Trading for index changes and cash flows, performance measurement and attribution.
• Construct and manage portfolios in accordance with IMA, regulations and State Street IM policies and procedures to achieve performance in line client expectations and ensure any performance issues are investigated and documented.
• Analysis of upcoming corporate actions for value add or wealth preservation opportunities.
• Update client specific guidelines in portfolio management tools and management of client restricted lists in Issue Lists.
• Improve efficiency and consistency of investment process; volunteer for projects that improve communication and collaboration between sites.
• Act as local matrix manager and local escalation point for Beta related issues within the Systematic Equity team ensuring risk items are raised promptly.
• Assist functional manager with the oversight and adherence of the team to Polish labor rules such working hours and Bank Holiday cover.

Job Requirements:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Advanced Excel and some coding knowledge would be useful
• Numerically minded and confident with data handling and interpretation
• Ability to work effectively in a team, providing support, prioritize workload
• Initiative, demonstrate flexibility and think creatively to solve problems
• Absolute attention to detail and high degree of accuracy when working under pressure
• Commitment to further study and qualifications (preferably CFA or studying for CFA designation)
• KNF (Polish Financial and Supervisory Authority) certificate of Investment Advisor would be beneficial
• Awareness or risks associated with investing
• Maintaining knowledge of market and economic issues
• 5+ years working in a financial institution or a finance-specific industry
• Fully competent in the management of Index tracking equity Funds

Education & Qualifications:

An undergraduate degree in one of the following disciplines is preferable:

• accounting

• statistics.

Minimum Salary:​

zł182 004 Annual

The minimum salary quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate ultimately works outside of this primary location, the applicable minimum salary may differ.​

Salary will be determined based on factors such as the position, type of work performed, individual skills, job description, working hours, diligence, initiative, self-management, length of employment, availability, and the quantity and quality of work delivered, as well as other objective and non-discriminatory criteria relevant to State Street employees.​

In addition to salary, employees are eligible to be considered for discretionary annual performance-based awards.​
