About the Role

We are hiring a world-class growth operator who has scaled multiple companies and built early-stage systems inside top-tier venture environments. You will own the studio-wide growth engine and ensure every venture reaches Product-Market-Fit (PMF), revenue, and adoption milestones that compound Martell Ventures enterprise value.

You operate with Speed over Perfection, Own the Outcome, and Act Like a Founder, holding yourself and founders to elite execution standards. Once founders enter the studio, you install the Martell Ventures Growth OS across the portfolio and run a unified growth system covering acquisition, activation, monetization, and retention.

You will define ICP clarity, positioning, offer design, activation paths, pricing, and funnel integrity for every venture while enforcing truth, speed, and founder-level ownership. This role is for a GTM operator who has taken products from zero to $5M plus in ARR, can diagnose problems quickly, prescribe the right interventions, and build growth systems that scale across ventures.

What You’ll Do

1. Portfolio Growth Engine & PMF Acceleration

• Install the Martell Ventures Growth OS into the Martell Ventures portfolio, ensuring consistent sequencing, testing cadence, reporting, and execution rhythms.

• Architect zero-to-one sequencing across acquisition, activation, monetization, and retention.

• Establish each venture’s ICP, positioning, pricing, and core offers with clear value messaging with each founder.

• Translate founder goals into growth plans with targets, assumptions, constraints, and weekly velocity expectations.

• Maintain a cross-portfolio view of pacing, traction, risk, and resource needs so every venture advances toward PMF, revenue, and adoption.

• Drive PMF detection, experiments, initial launch velocity, and weekly signal extraction, ensuring evidence—not opinions—guides direction.

2. Founder Leadership, Coaching, and Execution Standards

• Act as the Growth Operating Partner for each portfolio founder and diagnose issues, prescribe solutions, and uphold execution quality.

• Coach founders on clear ICP, strong funnels, effective pricing, sharp messaging, and tight sequencing.

• Push leaders to elite performance through fast loops, decisive iteration, and high accountability.

• Elevate or transition talent when pace, ownership, or execution falls below expectations.

• Build a culture of truth, speed, ownership, and initiative across all ventures.

• Ensure founders adopt shared systems for prioritization, launches, experiments, PMF testing, customer development, and retention.

3. Growth Architecture and Portfolio Systems

• Build the unified growth operating system, including cadences, reporting rhythms, prioritization, and AI native workflows.

• Establish a shared growth language across funnels, tests, conversion metrics, sequencing, attribution, and decision-making.

• Deploy AI automation across content, ICP insights, research, funnel builds, and iteration cycles to accelerate idea → test → signal.

• Build scalable, plug-and-play inbound, outbound, lifecycle, and enablement systems ventures can adopt in under 90 days.

• Own analytics across every venture: dashboards, pacing views, unit economics, activation metrics, CAC payback, and forecasting.

• Maintain PMF-first discipline and ensure every experiment ties directly to CAC, activation, retention, revenue per lead, and EV drivers.

• A GTM operator who has taken products from zero to $5M plus ARR, with the ability to build early-stage growth systems at startup speed.

• Strong command of core growth fundamentals, including ICP, positioning, pricing, offers, funnels, demand generation, activation, retention, and PMF validation.

• Sharp pattern recognition that reads traction signals, demand quality, messaging strength, and momentum drivers across markets.

• Exceptional coaching ability that elevates founders in ICP clarity, offer creation, funnel quality, prioritization, and execution discipline.

• High agency, strong judgment, and the operational rigor to set standards, build systems, and drive clarity across multiple companies.

Success Looks Like (First 90 Days)

• You establish a growth system that accelerates ventures toward PMF, revenue, and adoption with measurable traction signals and directly increases Enterprise Value across the portfolio.

• The Martell Ventures Growth OS is installed in early ventures with visible adoption, cadence adherence, and operational clarity while improving studio-wide systems and reporting.

• Clear sequencing, ICP clarity, and growth plans for every active company.

• PMF detection, experiments, initial launch velocity, and weekly signal extraction are running as the default operating rhythm leveraging AI-native workflows to automate repeatable tasks.

• Ensure portfolio companies track to a minimum of 30% month-over-month growth rate.

• Noticeable improvements in activation, retention, monetization signals, and early funnel performance through integrated Media leverage across venture initiatives.

• A unified growth operating system running across ventures with experiments, reporting, and prioritization loops executed weekly that is modular and repeatable, building the machine that builds the machine.

• Portfolio reviews showing increased momentum, higher signal quality, earlier PMF evidence, and faster corrective action when ventures stall while leading talent pipeline selection and onboarding of business and technical leaders for the portfolio.
