Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for building and refining portfolio-level financial models, delivering on debt and tax-equity investor reporting requirements, and managing a solar company's operating portfolio of photovoltaic and battery storage assets.
You will collaborate closely with teams from capital markets, project accounting, FP&A, regulatory, land and stakeholder management, customer success, and operations. This position offers excellent growth opportunities within a high-achieving and dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities
• Build and enhance portfolio-level financial models to support budgets, reforecasts, and decision-making.
• Conduct budget-to-actual variance analysis at the project level and share insights with operational teams.
• Identify and investigate underperformance and optimization opportunities, providing actionable recommendations.
• Prepare comprehensive reporting packages and deliverables for investors and lenders.
• Collaborate with operations to ensure delivery of key alerts and reduce portfolio risks.
• Develop and maintain data infrastructure to analyze key drivers such as energy rates, production, and other performance metrics.
Requirements:
Qualifications & Skills
Experience & Education
• 4-6 years of experience in financial analysis, portfolio management, or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Experience in renewables, energy, or infrastructure is preferred but not required.
Technical Expertise
• Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling, dashboards, and sensitivity analysis (must-have).
• Experience working with large datasets and querying databases.
• Strong data visualization skills (must-have).
• Familiarity with SQL, Power Query, Python, or SigmaXL is a plus.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) preferred.
• Excellent analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively present insights.
• Highly organized with superior time management skills.
• Proactive, with a demonstrated ability to improve processes and propose creative solutions.
• Curious and eager to understand how the business operates to make informed decisions. decisions
