The POS Receptionist plays a central role in ensuring smooth and efficient customer transactions while delivering excellent service. As the first point of contact at checkout, this role supports the store’s revenue goals through accurate sales processing, diligent inventory tracking, and professional customer engagement. The POS Receptionist also contributes to maintaining store presentation, compliance, and operational efficiency.
1.0 Key Duties and Responsibilities
Process sales transactions, including cash, card, checks, vouchers, and returns.
Ensure accurate calculation of totals, giving correct change, and reconciling end-of-day balances.
Verify product quality and quantities before packaging and delivering to customers.
Monitor and post daily transfers, returns, and credits to the system.
Assist with promotions by communicating sale items and encouraging upselling opportunities.
Participate in scheduled stock counts, audits, and inventory checks.
Support merchandising by restocking shelves, monitoring pricing updates, and reporting discrepancies.
Provide courteous, professional, and efficient service to all customers.
Ensure POS and work area cleanliness and readiness at all times.
Follow company procedures for opening and closing duties, including lights, equipment, and register control.
2.0 General Responsibilities
Safeguard cash, product integrity and CPJ’s brand reputation through ethical conduct and maintaining strict adherence to company policies.
Uphold Health & Safety and food handling standards in compliance with regulations.
Maintain strong product and procedural knowledge
Assist in other duties delegated by supervisors to support overall store operations.
3.0 Qualifications and Skills
At least 1 years’ experience in a retail or cashiering role
Valid Food Handlers Permit.
Strong counting, calculation and basic analytical skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a positive, professional attitude
Ability to develop and maintain good relationships
Familiarity with retail operations, business procedures and customer service practices
Organized, self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision
Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays
Knowledge of Health and Safety standards in a retail environment
