Dawson Mine
Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world.  In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in Northwest Queensland and Western Australia.
Dawson is located at the southern end of the Bowen Basin in Central Queensland, being just over a 2hrs drive west from either Rockhampton or Gladstone, or 4.5hrs drive north of the Darling Downs or South Burnett.
We are currently seeking a Plumber within the Mine Maintenance Services team at our Dawson Mine, on a full-time permanent basis. Employed by Dawson Mine’s Enterprise Agreement, the Plumber will attend to planned and breakdown maintenance tasks on fixed infrastructures and site buildings as the authorized Plumber, safely and effectively whilst maintaining a high quality of work and housekeeping standards. This is a site-based position on a 7 on, 7 off dayshift only roster.
• Hold a relevant Trade Qualification in Plumbing (mandatory).
• Hold a Carpenter / Builder qualification (desirable).
• Hold a Manual Driver’s licence.
• Previous experience within mine services and related industry experience is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and fix complex issues like gas leaks, water pressure, and other related issues.
• Ability to work independently and also positively within a team environment.
• Attention to detail and a passion to support the essential site services team.
