How you’ll make an impact

As the Platform Team Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring the availability, security, scalability, and cost-effectiveness of Planday's technical platform. You will also lead the further development of the Platform and ecosystem to ensure the future scale of the Planday product.

You will lead a team of experienced Platform Engineers and Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) to create, develop and maintain a robust foundation for our product, enabling stable high-performance product experience for our customers. You will contribute and execute on the engineering strategy as well as making sure to align this strategy to company objectives.

You’ll maintain a working environment in which your team can do their best work predictably and sustainably. You’ll make sure the team has all the information they need and the right feedback loops in place to discover and deliver valuable, usable, and buildable outcomes. You’ll monitor and look to support the operational health of your team and products, aiming for resilience.

You will support your team to hone their engineering skills and grow as individuals in order to meet the capabilities required for the team. Your focus will be on driving engineering initiatives and ensuring the team makes progress towards their goals.

What you’ll do

Platform Engineering

Ensure the availability, security, scalability, and cost-effectiveness of Planday's technical platform to serve our product and customers effectively. Oversee and participate through direct contribution to the development of the platform, following the platform strategy. Execute technical leadership through participation in technical projects potentially with hands-on activities, leveraging your expertise to drive successful outcomes.

Developer Experience

Enable all Planday engineers to develop, test, and deliver product experiences using well proven value-adding technologies and tools by providing an extensive and easy-to-use toolset and development platform.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

Engage in cross-department projects and activities, ensuring alignment and collaboration across various functions within the organisation. Take part in cross-department governance and certification meetings, ensuring technical compliance and alignment with the organisation's objectives.

Leadership

Lead the Platform team and nurture a culture of belonging, followership, ownership, and customer-centric thinking.. Collaboration, coaching, and supporting members of the Platform team in achieving their teams and personal goals will be clear objectives for you to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Technical Expertise: Strong background in platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, and SRE practices, with a proven track record of designing and maintaining scalable, reliable systems.
