🚀 About the Role

Carbyne is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team. In this capacity, you will be responsible for developing the foundational infrastructure and tooling utilized by our entire R&D department. This role is designed for a technical expert dedicated to enhancing organizational efficiency through the optimization of development workflows and the implementation of robust internal frameworks. If you possess a strong background in Developer Experience (DevEx) and are committed to resolving complex architectural challenges that drive engineering velocity, we invite you to apply.

What You'll Do:

• Build & Maintain Internal Tooling: Develop and scale internal frameworks, CLI tools, and shared libraries that standardize development across the R&D.
• Enhance DevEx: Identify friction points in the software development lifecycle and build automated solutions to remove them.
• Architect Scalable Systems: Work on the core infrastructure and cloud-based systems that support our microservices architecture.
• CI/CD Excellence: Design and implement robust, high-speed deployment pipelines that ensure reliability and safety.
• Collaborate Across R&D: Partner with product engineering teams to understand their pain points and provide architectural guidance and platform support.
• Observability & Health: Implement and promote best practices for distributed tracing, logging, and monitoring to help teams own and debug their services effectively.
• Innovation: Stay at the forefront of platform engineering trends, evaluating new technologies that can give our engineers a competitive edge.

Requirements:
🔑 What You Bring

• Technical Foundation: 4+ years of experience in Software Engineering (Backend or Full-stack) with a strong focus on building scalable systems.
• Platform Mindset (Advantage): Previous experience as a Platform Engineer or in a team focused on Developer Productivity.
• Coding Craftsmanship: Deep proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., Node.js, Go, Python) and a passion for clean, reusable code.
• Cloud & Infra Expertise: Strong experience with cloud providers (AWS/GCP/Azure), Kubernetes, and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Pulumi, or similar).
• CI/CD Mastery: Proven track record of building and maintaining complex CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins).
• Problem Solver: An analytical mindset capable of troubleshooting complex distributed systems and performance bottlenecks.
• Great Communicator: The ability to explain complex technical concepts to different stakeholders and a collaborative spirit.
• Advantage: Experience with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Honeycomb, or OpenTelemetry.
