About the role

Slash is, at its core, a technology company and is on a mission to build the best engineering team in the world. We’re looking for a Platform Engineer focused on Core Infrastructure to own and scale the foundation of our banking platform as we grow fast.

You’ll be responsible for keeping our systems reliable, secure, and fast — while building the tooling and infra that enables the rest of the team to move quickly without breaking things. That means scaling and working on everything on the cloud (AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes).

You’ll help define our infra roadmap, own critical decisions around performance, observability, security, and deployment, and play a key role in enabling Slash to serve billions of dollars in business spend reliably and securely.

What you’ll be doing:

• Be responsible for keeping Slash’s production environment up and healthy.

• Scale and iterate on our infrastructure as we grow (we’re growing really fast) - we run a monolithic deployment on Kubernetes, with CockroachDB as our primary production database

• Improve the speed & reliability of our continuous delivery & integration pipeline.

• Own and execute against PCI, SOC 2 and all relevant compliance standards 

• Architect security alerts, controls, code audits in AWS

• Monitor, track and analyze security events and leverage that information to iterate and improve our systems.

• Write libraries and infrastructure tooling to speed up internal development and complicated workflows

We’re Looking for Someone Who:

• Has experience being directly responsible for scaling product during high growth stages at startups.

• Is a builder and gets things done

• Experience scaling software systems to handle high levels of burst traffic
