Why we have this role:
As a Plant Production Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting our manufacturing operations, helping ensure products are produced safely, accurately, and on time. Your work directly impacts our ability to serve customers and maintain the high standards GVF is known for.
Working with us:
This is a permanent, full-time position operating out of our production facility at 486 Main Street, Cambridge, Ontario. This is a consistent night shift position with the regular working hours being Sunday to Friday, 10:00 pm to 6:30 am. This position starts at a competitive wage of $25.00 per hour and you will receive at least 3 weeks vacation to start.
What you’ll do:
Production & Operations
Manufacture products accurately and on schedule
Sequence and prioritize production runs
Label finished products correctly
Inventory & Materials
Set up, weigh, and record incoming ingredients
Maintain inventory levels and ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO)
Handle rework materials according to HACCP/CFIA standards
Safety & Quality
Follow all safety, HACCP, and regulatory procedures
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Report any safety concerns, incidents, or errors promptly
Teamwork & Support
Work collaboratively with the production team
Contribute to a positive and respectful team environment
Support other areas of the plant as needed
Your background includes:
High school diploma or equivalent
Forklift experience (required)
Valid G driver’s license
Ability to perform physical work (including lifting up to 55 lbs)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good time management and organizational skills
Team-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic
Experience in agriculture or manufacturing is an asset
