Pipeline Bending Engineer
West Penn Energy Services – Shelocta, PA
Full-Time | Field-Based
West Penn Energy Services is seeking a skilled Pipeline Bending Engineer to support pipeline construction projects across the region. This is a full-time, field-based position responsible for planning, executing, and verifying pipe bending operations to ensure alignment with project specifications and installation requirements.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with pipeline construction, strong technical knowledge of pipe bending practices, and the ability to work closely with field crews, Superintendents, and Project Managers.
Responsibilities
Plan, layout, and execute pipeline bending operations according to project specifications and alignment sheets.
Operate or oversee operation of bending equipment to achieve required pipe angles and tolerances.
Interpret construction drawings, alignment sheets, and bending diagrams.
Ensure bends meet engineering standards and project requirements.
Perform quality checks and measurements to verify accuracy of bends.
Coordinate with Superintendents, Foremen, and welding crews to support efficient installation.
Maintain accurate bending logs and documentation.
Identify and resolve alignment or fit-up issues in the field.
Follow all OSHA, company, and client safety requirements.
Participate in daily safety meetings, JSAs, and toolbox talks.
Required Qualifications
Experience in pipeline construction with a focus on pipe bending operations.
Ability to read and interpret alignment sheets, blueprints, and bending specifications.
Hands-on experience with pipeline bending equipment preferred.
Strong understanding of pipeline installation processes and sequencing.
High attention to detail and accuracy in measurements.
Ability to work in outdoor, physically demanding field conditions.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.
