Job Description

Northwestern Medicine is a growing, nationally recognized health system that provides world-class care at 11 hospitals and more than 200 locations in communities throughout Chicago, the suburbs and northern Illinois. Together with Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, we are pushing boundaries in our research labs, training the next generation of physicians and scientists, and pursuing excellence in patient care. Our vision and values are deeply rooted in the idea that patients come first in all we do. We value building relationships with our patients and their families, listening to their unique needs while providing individualized primary, specialty and hospital-based care. Our recent affiliations and ongoing growth make it possible for us to serve more patients, closer to where they live and work. While each of our locations has a unique story, Northwestern Medicine is unified under one mission – Patients First.

Northwestern Medical Group (NMG) and the Feinberg School of Medicine (FSM) at Northwestern University seek a full-time, vascular surgeon to join an established practice with 3 other surgeons.  Primary responsibilities include providing the full breadth of vascular surgery services in Northwestern Medicine Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute (BCVI) West Region, specifically at Delnor Hospital in Geneva, Illinois and Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Illinois.

• This position will be expected to provide comprehensive vascular care in the region and participation in the outpatient non-invasive vascular laboratory
• Expectations include shared service call (1 in 4), rounding and caring for pre-op and post-op patients in concert with the clinical team, and responding to local consultation requests and referrals
• Preferred candidates will play a vital role in the growth and development of vascular programming in the BCVI West Region
• A practice office is located in-hospital at both locations and includes busy on-site IAC certified vascular laboratory, inpatient and outpatient APN support, and multiple experienced vascular nurses.

Qualified candidates must have a strong background in clinical vascular and endovascular surgery, have completed an ACGME-accredited vascular surgery fellowship program, and are board certified or board eligible in vascular surgery.  Experienced and qualified new graduates are encouraged to apply.  Vascular surgeons in this position may participate in academic programs of the Feinberg School of Medicine, including educational programs or research programs (participation in clinical trial and involvement in the Vascular Quality Initiative (VQI) database).  Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes excellent healthcare and retirement benefits.

• BE/BC Vascular Surgeon
• ACGME-accredited vascular surgery fellowship program
