Photography Producer - Hong Kong
Reporting to the Photography Manager the Photography Producer will be part of the Wellcom onsite team managing the photography and videography requirements for our client at their onsite studios. These requirements range from product photography, simple to more complex video production, event photography and editorial shoots for a high volume of items across multiple sites and locations.
The ideal candidate is an incredibly well organised, strategic thinker who is brilliant at multitasking, proactive and brimming with energy and enthusiasm. You’ll have extensive experience negotiating and dealing with external content providers. We are looking for a person who is always facing forward and looking to the future of this rapidly changing and evolving industry.
The role requires a high level of organisation, creativity, an inquisitive, innovative and self motivated personality, and a succinct communicator with a strong project management background. Being a team player with a positive attitude and willingness to be flexible and get the job done is essential, as is the ability to strategically plan and execute multiple projects and requirements simultaneously.
Working closely with Photography Manager you will coordinate multiple freelance photographers and videographers across multiple sites in Hong Kong and other countries in APAC. You will be working closely with our onsite image editing and studio teams, as well as multiple clients and stakeholders within the client's business. Building relationships, as well as working autonomously in a fast paced environment will be key to success.
This full-time role will be based onsite at the multiple client studio sites in Hong Kong.
Responsibilities
Contact point for Photography and videography requirements in APAC
Manage both internal and external teams workload to deliver assets to deadline and within budget
Build and nurture strong relationships with key teams and departments within the business including Creative teams, Operations and Key Department Heads
Be in constant communication with the Account Director and Studio Leads to ensure the most efficient Photography workflow and post production processes are in place. Work with the Photography Manager and other team leads to adjust and improve as required.
Maintain our freelance contact database and research potential new freelancers particularly in other places including Japan, Indonesia, Singapore and Taiwan
Continually be building and aware of new talent including Photographers, videographers, stylists and assistants in collaboration with the Photography Manager
Develop and ensure our shoot and retouching guidelines are adhered to across each department in order to consistently deliver top quality imagery (stills and video)
Help embed new initiatives from our client across Brand Guidelines, photographic process and general ways of working.
Work closely with counterparts in other regions to enhance knowledge and global alignment.

Required experience & skills
At least 5 years proven experience in photographic and video production management
Proven experience building and managing a successful team / studio
Strong eye for producing visual assets
Deadline-oriented with strong time management skills
Ability to handle high volume of complex projects and tasks for multiple people and departments simultaneously, managing competing priorities
Must be able to work independently, make sound decisions, use initiative, think strategically, and maintain accuracy and attention to detail
Must possess solid organisational and excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively with internal and external teams
Understand and interested in all areas of photography and video post production including a strong knowledge in digital file specs and size formats
Ability to identify inefficiencies and implement new or improved processes
Energetic and enthusiastic with a passion for Photography
Experience working in a global team is preferred
Experience with DAM’s and online image workflow tools is essential
Experience in creating and managing complex studio/resource management or utilisation tools such as Monday.com
Highly proficient in using various platforms such as Google - Google Slides, Google Sheets and Microsoft Office including Powerpoint and Excel
Positive and proactive problem solver and innovator that can find a solution or educated response to any client requirement or request; not afraid to think outside the box
Fluent in Cantonese and English, conversational Mandarin
As this is a global client with Senior members of staff based in NY and London any candidate will need to be flexible in their working hours and be prepared to join calls later into the evening. This role is based 5 days per week onsite at our clients office.
