With seven collection centres and state-of-the-art equipment, Awanui Labs Northland (previously known as Northland Pathology Limited) provides high-quality diagnostic pathology services to the Te Tai Tokerau / Northland community.
About the role | Mō te tūranga:
We are looking for a Phlebotomist to join our Far North based team in our Patient Services department in Kerikeri area. The position is part-time 5 days a week (minimum 32.5 hours per week), Monday-Friday working 6.5 hours per day between 07:30 and 17:30 on a rostered basis. Remuneration will be between $26.92 to $32.22 per hour depending on experience.
Key Tasks Include:
Blood collection, responsible for handling contained specimens, i.e., human blood, faeces, and tissue, and preparing specimens for transportation
You may be required to work at any one of our three collection centres at Kerikeri, Paihia & Kaikohe on a regular basis, with occasional rotation to Whangarei based collection centres.
You will be using our sophisticated Collection Management System

To be successful in this role:
Registered as a Phlebotomist /Medical Laboratory Pre-Analytical Technician with MSCNZ or with qualifications and experience eligible for registration.
A positive and friendly approach to your work and demonstrate cultural and social sensitivity.
Compassion for others, including a real desire to provide high-quality care to a wide variety of patients of all ages and circumstances.
Excellent customer service skills including a high level of personal presentation.
Strong attention to detail and an ability to follow processes accurately, even when under pressure.
Good computer skills.
Reliable transport and full Driver's license or overseas equivalent.
