About the role | Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga
Our Patient Services Department is seeking two experienced and motivated Phlebotomists to join the team, one in a permanent, part-time role of 50 hours per fortnight and one in a casual position.These roles offer the opportunity to work across a diverse range of settings, including our community collection centres, Nelson Hospital, hospital ward rounds, and our Domiciliary service.
This is a varied and rewarding role suited to someone who enjoys working with people and delivering high-quality patient care in different environments. Flexibility is key, as shifts are rostered between 7.00am and 5.00pm, Monday to Friday, across all collection locations.

To succeed in this role you will need:
A positive and friendly approach to your work.
Compassion for others, including a real desire to provide high-quality care to a wide variety of patients of all ages and circumstances.
Excellent customer service skills including a high level of personal presentation.
Strong attention to detail and an ability to follow processes accurately, even when under pressure.
Respect for always ensuring patient confidentiality and in all matters.
Diploma in Applied Science, or a Bachelor of Science would be an advantage, but not essential.
To either hold or work towards registration with the Medical Science Council of New Zealand and hold an Annual Practising Certificate as a Medical Laboratory Pre-Analytical Technician.
A clean New Zealand Driver’s Licence.
Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
If you do not yet have your registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand, we will also consider candidates who are in the process of becoming qualified.
