About the role | Mō te tūranga:
Our Patient Services Department is responsible for collecting blood and other patient samples, including urine, faeces, and tissue, from both the community and hospital patients. These specimens are carefully handled and then processed and tested in our state-of-the-art medical laboratory.
We are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic Phlebotomists to join our Dunedin team. There are multiple positions available for full-time, part-time and casual work. This is a great opportunity to contribute to patient care while gaining hands-on experience in a supportive and professional environment.
Responsibilities include:
Blood collection, responsible for handling contained specimens, i.e., human blood, faeces, and tissue, and preparing specimens for transportation.
Provide professional customer service, and serve as a link between health professionals, their patients, and the laboratory.

Registration with the Medical Science Council and an Annual Practising Certificate.
Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
If you do not yet have your registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand, we will also consider candidates who are in the process of becoming qualified.
