Department: Transplant Outpatient Pharmacy (with possibility of cross coverage at Toronto General Hospital Outpatient Pharmacy and Clinic Pharmacy)
Reports to: Manager
Wage Range: $30.49 
Hours: 37.5 Hours per Week
Status: Temporary Full-Time (Up to12 Months Contract)
Closing Date: March 12, 2026
Duties:
As an integral member of the Pharmacy Services Inpatient/Outpatient Operations Team, the Pharmacy Technician Intern is responsible for:
• Performing all technical aspects of prescription preparation including compounding (as per master worksheets) and dispensing responsibilities, as assigned
• Replenishing stock medication supplies for assigned areas
• Ensuring patient information is updated and maintained in the pharmacy information systems
• Completing all required reports and documentation
• Attending, participating in staff and patient training/educational functions within scope of practice
• Performing workload measurement support functions; performing pharmacy purchasing and/or receiving related activities
• Participation in inventory count and performing cross-functional and/other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested.
• Pharmacy Technician Interns must always practice under the supervision of a Part A pharmacist or a Part A pharmacy technician
• Completion of a two-year community college Pharmacy Technician Program or recognized equivalent required.
• Registration as an Intern Technician in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists required
• Membership with the Canadian Association of Pharmacy Technicians (CAPT) preferred.
• Ability to work variable shifts.
• Standing and walking for several hours at a time.
• Light lifting of boxes
• Sitting and repetitive hand motions for several hours at a time (e.g. sterile compounding).
• Accurate hand/eye coordination of fine movements (e.g., data entry, preparing/dispensing medications, preparation of IV products).
