Join our team at Reedsburg Area Medical Center! We are looking for a Pharmacy Tech to join us in our Inpatient Pharmacy!
Schedule: Part-Time | 16 hours/week | Weekend and holiday rotation
Reedsburg Area Medical Center is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Pharmacy Technician to support our inpatient pharmacy team. In this part-time role, you will assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining drug inventory, and delivering high-quality pharmacy services to inpatient departments. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive, patient-centered environment with a collaborative healthcare team.
Job Specific Duties:
Interprets Patient/Resident Medication orders and provides the correct drug, dose, quantity, and dosage form to the correct individual
Drug distribution with 100% accuracy of information in terms of spelling, strength, lot number and expiration date..
Assists in control and distribution of controlled substances with strict adherence to procedural and legal requirements.
Investigates and takes appropriate action to resolve problems within the department.
Prepares client charges with 95% accuracy and understands computerized billing operations including billing to CMS and private insurers.
Shows great attention to detail and maintains files of med orders, prescriptions, and pharmacy forms with 100% accuracy.
Exhibits proficiency of parenteral product preparation with 100% accuracy when the final inspection of preparation, calculations, documentation, and labeling is made by the pharmacist.
Experience and Training Required:
A minimum of high-school diploma or equivalent with competency of basic English and Math skills.
Knowledgeable in relevant state and federal regulations and pharmacy policies and practices.
Valid Wisconsin Driver’s license.
National Certification (CPhT) preferred.
Completion of pharmacy technician training or equivalent, as determined by Pharmacy Director.
BLS certified.
