We are seeking a passionate Pharmacist in a full-time (38 - 40 hours/week) capacity to join our team in Nhill!
West Wimmera Health Service provides high-quality hospital care, residential aged care, disability services and community health facilities to more than 22,000 people in the West Wimmera region.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The successful applicant will provide a range of clinical pharmaceutical services to consumers in all service requirements of West Wimmera Health Service (WWHS), which includes Nhill, Kaniva, Jeparit, Rainbow, Natimuk and Rupanyup Hospitals and Residential Aged Care Facilities; Goroke, Minyip and Murtoa Community Health Centers and Dental Services.
Work as a sole Pharmacist.
12 months experience working in a hospital setting.
Package can be negotiated.
The nature of this position does not accommodate internship arrangements or applicants who require supervision.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:
Essential:
Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree (or equivalent) with registration as a Pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA).
Demonstrated ability to function with honesty and integrity in a work environment that is dependent on adherence to legal requirements.
Demonstrated excellence in customer focus approach to work and service quality.
Demonstrated excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to be able to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
Commitment to personal and others continuing education and professional development.
Demonstrated excellent organisational and time management skills.
Desirable:
Recent experience in using iPharmacy software.
Post Graduate qualification in Pharmacy.
Membership to an appropriate professional body.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To provide pharmaceutical care to consumers of West Wimmera Health Service’s services.
Distribute medications throughout the health service.
Dispense medications by packaging and labelling pharmaceuticals.
Liaise with medical and nursing staff to ensure safe and appropriate medication use.
Act as a consumer advocate to prescribers for medication best practice.
