Position Summary
The Intake Attorney serves as the first legal point of contact for prospective clients, evaluating potential personal injury claims, providing initial legal guidance, and determining case viability. This role is critical in converting qualified leads into retained clients while ensuring a high standard of client care and ethical compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Client Consultations
Conduct initial consultations with prospective clients via phone, video, or in person
Gather facts, assess injuries, liability, and damages
Build rapport and establish trust with potential clients
Case Evaluation
Analyze potential personal injury claims (auto accidents, slip and falls, premises liability, etc.)
Determine case merit based on liability, damages, and collectability
Identify red flags and risks early in the intake process
Case Sign-Up & Conversion
Clearly explain legal rights, process, and contingency fee agreements
Convert qualified leads into retained clients
Ensure all retainer agreements and documentation are properly executed
Documentation & Compliance
Accurately document consultations in CRM/case management system
Ensure compliance with ethical standards and firm policies
Coordinate with intake staff for file setup and onboarding
Collaboration
Work closely with intake specialists, case managers, and litigation teams
Provide feedback to marketing/intake teams on lead quality
Assist in refining intake processes and scripts
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Active license and good standing with the state bar
1–5+ years of personal injury experience preferred (intake or litigation)
Strong understanding of personal injury law and case valuation
Skills & Competencies

Strong issue-spotting and analytical ability
Sales-oriented mindset with a client-first approach
Ability to make quick, sound decisions
Highly organized with attention to detail
