Position Title: Personal Financial Management Course (PFMC) Instructor
The Personal Financial Management Course (PFMC) Instructor delivers standardized financial literacy training to Initial Entry Training (IET) Soldiers at Army installations nationwide. Instructors provide engaging, instruction aligned with Army-directed curriculum, ensuring Soldiers gain practical knowledge in budgeting, credit, savings, investing, and long-term financial readiness.
This position requires strong presentation skills, adaptability to dynamic training environments, and the ability to communicate complex financial concepts in a clear, relatable manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver the PFMC curriculum in accordance with contract requirements and Army standards (typically 4.5 hours of instruction per course plus 1 hour break).
Facilitate interactive classroom instruction to groups of Soldiers, ensuring engagement and comprehension.
Tailor delivery techniques to meet the needs of diverse audiences while maintaining fidelity to the approved curriculum.
Manage classroom logistics, including attendance tracking and coordination with unit points of contact (POCs).
Submit Electronic Closure Reports (ECRs) within 48 hours of course completion to document course delivery and attendance.
Administer and support pre- and post-assessments as required by the program.
Provide feedback on curriculum effectiveness, student engagement, and observed knowledge gaps.
Participate in periodic meetings or check-ins with Regional Leads and program management.
Maintain professionalism and represent the PFMC program in alignment with Army values and expectations.
Adapt to schedule changes, short-notice adjustments, and varying installation requirements.
Required Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in Finance, Business, Education, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
1+ years of teaching experience or instructor experience in an academic setting.
Proficiency in financial management and related teaching techniques.
Financial management subject matter knowledge.
Familiarity with initial presentation, curriculum and training aids.
Strong public speaking and classroom facilitation skills.
Ability to effectively communicate financial concepts to large groups.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
Ability to travel locally to assigned installations (as required).
Must be able to pass background screening requirements for access to military installations.
