We are seeking a passionate and imaginative Early Years Performing Arts Teacher to join our team and inspire young learners aged 3–6 within an IB (International Baccalaureate) framework. This role is centered on introducing children to the fundamentals of dance, movement, rhythm, and creative expression through engaging, play-based, and inquiry-driven learning experiences.
The ideal candidate will create a nurturing and stimulating environment where children feel confident to explore movement and express themselves freely. Through a blend of music, storytelling, and guided physical activities, the teacher will support the development of coordination, motor skills, creativity, and social-emotional growth. The role requires a strong understanding of early childhood development and the ability to design age-appropriate lessons that balance structure with exploration.
Requirements:
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and deliver dynamic performing arts sessions focused on dance, movement, and rhythm, aligned with IB Early Years pedagogy.
• Foster a joyful and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation, self-expression, and collaboration.
• Integrate storytelling, music, and imaginative play into movement-based learning experiences.
• Support children’s physical development, including balance, coordination, and spatial awareness.
• Provide gentle guidance and encouragement to build confidence, discipline, and creativity in young learners.
• Observe, assess, and document student progress in line with IB learning outcomes.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate performing arts into broader thematic units of inquiry.
• Maintain a safe and organized learning space that promotes exploration and well-being.
• Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding student development and participation.
Required Skills & Competencies:
• Strong foundation in dance, dance education, and movement-based teaching methodologies.
• Ability to guide and engage early years learners with patience, empathy, and creativity.
• Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate teaching strategies.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Creative lesson planning with an emphasis on experiential and inquiry-based learning.
• Ability to adapt teaching styles to suit diverse learning needs and abilities.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree or certification in Performing Arts, Dance, or a related field.
• 1–10 years of experience working with early years children in a school or studio setting.
• Experience with IB, international, or progressive early years curricula is preferred.
