Versant Media is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented PEP (Part-Time) Technical Director to join the CNBC broadcast production team. This position is responsible for the preparation of show effects and transitions, as well as the operation of a production switcher to deliver a complete, multi-layered live program incorporating video sources and graphical elements.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, sound editorial judgment, and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure live broadcast environment.

Responsibilities
· Execute the switching of live, fast-paced, news-oriented programming in accordance with Director instructions
· Prepare, route, and manage video and audio signal paths
· Build, program, and execute switcher effects and transitions
· Collaborate with production teams to support studio and control room operational needs
· Serve as Crew Chief, as assigned
· Test, troubleshoot, and prepare broadcast systems and equipment prior to air
· Partner with Operations Management and Engineering to ensure all technical systems meet operational standards and client expectations
· Ensure compliance with all applicable company policies, procedures, and broadcast standards
Basic Qualifications
· Minimum of 2 years of experience operating production switchers, including Sony MVS switcher series
· Experience with Ross Video switchers and automation systems (e.g., OverDrive)
· Familiarity with Chyron ISQ systems and other switcher-related peripherals
· Minimum of 2 years of experience in a live news and/or sports production control room environment
· Demonstrated ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and extended hours with limited notice

· Ability to think quickly, communicate clearly, and perform effectively in a live production environment
· Strong interpersonal and client service skills with the ability to remain composed under pressure
· Comprehensive knowledge of live news television production workflows
· Experience with iNews newsroom systems preferred
· Advanced PC and technical troubleshooting skills
· Strong problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
