About the Role
Reporting to the Director of Finance & People, the People Operations Coordinator is a dual-function role responsible for both office management and people operations at VRIFY. This person keeps our Vancouver office running smoothly while also supporting the day-to-day HR needs of our team across Canada and Australia.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, personable, and eager to grow. You have some foundational experience in HR or office coordination and are excited to deepen your expertise as the role evolves. You are comfortable context-switching between hands-on office coordination and more sensitive HR responsibilities, and you handle both with care and professionalism. You know when to take initiative and when to loop in your supervisor for guidance. This role works closely with senior leadership and offers direct visibility into how a growing tech company operates across people, operations, and culture.
Key Responsibilities — People Operations
Support the employee lifecycle including onboarding, HR documentation, probation tracking, performance support, and offboarding
Serve as a first point of contact for HR queries, policy questions, benefit enquiries, and employee relations concerns, escalating to your supervisor as needed
Maintain HRIS (BambooHR) and employee records, supporting compliance with employment standards across multiple jurisdictions
Assist in administering Employer of Record (EOR) providers (e.g. Remote, Deel) to support compliant employment across international jurisdictions
Build and maintain Excel-based reporting tools covering employee survey data, company metrics, and HR reporting
Develop and maintain HR templates, SOPs, engagement surveys, and structured workflows to support consistent, scalable people operations
Key Responsibilities — Office Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for all office-related matters, including facilities, vendors, supplies, and day-to-day operations
Manage office-related vendor relationships, office supply inventory, and service contracts to ensure the office is well-stocked and properly maintained
Coordinate office logistics including space planning, meeting room management, and equipment setup for new hires
Oversee office budgets and expense tracking, ensuring spend is managed responsibly and reported accurately
Maintain fire safety compliance, building access, and health and safety standards in the workplace
Plan and coordinate company culture events, team lunches, office celebrations, and employee engagement activities
Required Qualifications
1–2 years of experience in an office coordination, HR support, people operations, or similar role (co-op or internship experience considered)
Some exposure to HRIS platforms (BambooHR or similar) — you don't need to be an expert, but you should be comfortable learning new tools quickly
Familiarity with BC employment standards; awareness of multi-jurisdiction considerations is a plus
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sound judgment
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities independently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable engaging with employees at all levels
Nice to Have
Exposure to EOR providers (Remote, Deel, or similar)
Some awareness of SOC2 compliance processes — no expertise required
Experience with co-op programs or government-funded hiring grants
Exposure to Australian employment law or other international jurisdictions
