Seeking an experienced People Operations Coordinator to build and lead the foundation of the people function at a fast-growing, tech-enabled insurance startup. This role blends HR operations, benefits administration, and workplace experience to create a high-performing, engaging environment that supports company growth and employee success.
Responsibilities
• Own the people function end-to-end, including recruiting, onboarding, offboarding, performance processes, manager support, and HR compliance
• Run recruiting operations and talent pipeline infrastructure (tools, processes, coordination), partnering with leadership to support hiring plans
• Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions and sensitive people matters, operating with high judgment and discretion
• Administer and optimize employee benefits programs (health insurance, 401(k), and perks) and serve as the main point of contact for employee questions
• Manage HRIS systems (ADP), employee records, and people analytics to support headcount planning and organizational decisions
• Design and execute team events, off-sites, and culture-building initiatives to drive engagement and retention
• Oversee daily office operations, including facilities, vendors, supplies, and office-related budget management
Requirements:
• 5+ years of experience in people operations or HR, preferably at a startup or fast-paced tech/fintech company (20-100 people ideal)
• Proven experience with benefits administration, HR compliance, and HRIS platforms (ADP preferred)
• Experience building and scaling people processes and systems from scratch in a high-growth setting
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
• Strong judgment and discretion when handling confidential employee matters
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage both HR responsibilities and workplace experience initiatives
• Passion for building strong, people-first cultures and developing the people function as a competitive advantage
