We have a full-time opportunity for a People & Culture Generalist to join our People & Culture team.

As our People & Culture Generalist, you will serve as a key partner across the full employee lifecycle, from the moment a candidate enters our pipeline to the day-to-day experiences that define what it means to work here. You will sit at the intersection of operational excellence and people strategy, helping us build the systems, culture, and programs that allow our team to do their best work.

This is a high-impact, high-visibility role for an HR professional who is equally comfortable building scalable processes and having meaningful, nuanced conversations with employees and managers alike.

In this role, you will:

People Operations & HR Programs

• Partner with the VP, People & Culture to identify gaps in existing HR processes and programs and recommend practical, people-centered approaches to modernize program delivery, balancing efficiency with a people-first experience
• Evolve the employee handbook and people policies to reflect our values and culture
• Maintain accuracy and integrity of employee data across our HRIS, ensuring records, org charts, and reporting are always current
• Handle all documentation required for immigration purposes for future employees and current employees

Employee Relations & Leadership Enablement

• Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on matters including performance management, workplace concerns, policy interpretation, and team dynamics
• Lead employee relations matters, including investigations, with discretion, sound judgment, and a consistent, fair process
• Coach people managers on giving effective feedback, navigating difficult conversations, and building high-performing teams
• Proactively identify people risks and opportunities and bring forward informed recommendations to address

Learning & Development

• Support the identification of capability gaps and recommend training programs to increase skills across the business
• Design and deliver in-house training programs aligned to business goals

Employee Experience, Engagement & Events

• Support the design and execution of employee engagement initiatives, including employee engagement surveys, recognition programs, and culture-building activities
• Actively participate in the social committee and support the planning and execution of company-wide events
• Lead the planning and delivery of P&C-sponsored activities, cultural events, and recognition programs
• Gather and analyze feedback to help improve workplace culture and employee experiences
• Provide occasional cross-functional coverage, such as restocking snack supplies, to ensure a smooth and welcoming workplace experience

Talent Acquisition Support

• Own and managing the full-cycle recruitment process for designated roles, including posting roles, pre-screening, scheduling interviews, communication with candidates, and preparing offer documents
• Partner with hiring managers to develop role profiles, define evaluation criteria, and deliver a consistent, high-quality candidate experience at every stage
• Lead intake meetings with hiring managers to understand team needs, set expectations on process and timelines, and act as trusted advisor throughout the search
• Draft and post compelling job advertisements that reflect the company’s brand and attract diverse, qualified candidates
• Manage offer processes including preparing offer letters, conducting reference checks, and supporting negotiations where applicable
• Work closely with the Marketing team to build a compelling employer value proposition and brand story to attract candidates

You are a great fit if you have:

• 4–6 years of progressive HR or People Operations experience, with demonstrated exposure to both generalist work and business partnering
• CPHR or equivalent designation is an asset
• A track record of building trusted relationships with managers and influencing outcomes without direct authority
• Solid working knowledge of employment law and HR compliance
• Strong analytical thinking — comfortable using people data to identify trends, make a case, and inform decisions
• High emotional intelligence and the discretion to handle sensitive matters with care and consistency
• Proficiency with HRIS platforms and ATS tools (previous experience with ADP and/or Workable is an asset)
• Experience in designing or contributing to L&D programs is an asset

PressReader is committed to providing a fair compensation package which include a 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision benefit plan; 15 paid vacation days to start; health and wellness days and bereavement days; reimbursements for professional training and membership in professional associations; fitness subsidy and more, along with a chance to be working with amazing people. The pay range for this role is $75,000 to $80,000, depending on experience.
