The People Compliance Specialist reports to the Director Team member Experience and is responsible for ensuring Breeze’s people-related compliance requirements are executed accurately, consistently, and in alignment with regulatory and company standards. This role administers and supports compliance processes including random drug and alcohol testing, CHRC, fingerprinting, and related record maintenance, while serving as a quality control and check-and-balance for People Generalist work. The Specialist partners closely with the Team Member Experience team to identify gaps, reduce risk, and ensure processes are followed correctly, protecting both the company and the team member experience.
Here's what you'll do
• Improve compliance processes, documentation, and controls while supporting a positive team member experience
• Track and monitor Criminal History Records Checks (CHRC) and fingerprinting processes, including submission, tracking, adjudication, and record maintenance in accordance with TSA and FAA requirements
• Prepare information and documentation for the Breeze Background Check Committee (BGCC)
• Support the Drug & Alcohol Prevention Program in alignment with FAA and DOT regulations, including pre-employment and random drug testing
• Support audits for access and media ID compliance, including collection upon termination, partnering with leaders to ensure accountability and process adherence
• Maintain accurate compliance records in accordance with FAA, DOT, TSA, and record retention requirements
• Provide guidance and develop job aids for leaders and People team members on compliance requirements, procedures, and best practice
• Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits, tracking errors and reporting on processing
• Conduct quality reviews and audits of People Generalist work related to pre-employment compliance, serving as a check and balance to identify errors, trends, and risk areas
• Complete records requests in accordance with 49 CFR Part 40.25
• Serve as an alternate Designated Employer Representative (DER)
• Support the interpretation of People procedures related to compliance, pre-employment, and regulatory requirements
• Assist with special projects as assigned
• Achieve performance measures and adhere to established standards in alignment with Breeze Aviation Group values of Safety, Kindness, Integrity, Ingenuity, and Excellence
Here's what you'll need to be successful
Minimum Qualifications
• 4-year degree from an accredited university and/or equivalent, relevant working experience
• 1 year of experience in Human resources, Compliance, Safety, Security or similar experience
• 1+ years administrative support
• Basic understanding of state and federal employment law and record-keeping standards
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to create policy, process, documentation, and audit procedures as they pertain to the position expectations
• Experience in interpreting regulations and requirements
Preferred Qualifications
• 1+ years in the aviation industry supporting 40.25, PRD records, or Drug & Alcohol Testing Program
• 1+ years in the aviation industry supporting CHRC compliance
• Experience with airlines or other transportation industry organizations
