Overview
HOPE Community Services, Inc. is a leading outpatient treatment provider in south Oklahoma City. We provide compassionate trauma informed care to individuals whose lives have been impacted by mental health and substance use disorders. We do this by providing compassionate and evidence-based treatment, aimed at improving the quality of life for those we serve.
We are seeking a dedicated Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) for our Reintegration Services Program. This individual will assist clients in their recovery journey by providing peer support, advocating for resources, and helping them regain independence. About the Position
As a Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) within the Justice Services Program, you will be central to ensuring individuals transitioning from incarceration receive the support they need for successful reintegration. You’ll offer personalized peer support, helping clients access essential resources and maintain their recovery. Additionally, this position allows you to foster relationships with local organizations and guide individuals through their recovery journey, contributing to both personal growth and community reintegration.
About the Program
The Justice Services PRSS plays a vital role in assisting individuals as they reintegrate into society following incarceration. Serving as a liaison with Oklahoma Correctional Institutes, they focus on coordinating services prior to a client's release, ensuring a seamless transition back into the community. Through peer support and advocacy, PRSS guides clients in accessing resources, maintaining recovery, and fostering personal growth. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact while developing professional skills in collaboration and community networking, all while supporting individuals on their path to success.
Requirements
Demonstrated recovery from a mental health or substance use disorder
HS Diploma or GED
Reliable transportation
Skills
Ability to build rapport and maintain positive relationships with clients, employers, and colleagues.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with a diverse range of individuals.
Empathy and Compassion
Must be efficient in managing multiple tasks, maintaining accurate records, and meeting deadlines.
