Overview
HOPE Community Services, Inc. is a leading outpatient treatment provider in south Oklahoma City. We provide compassionate trauma informed care to individuals whose lives have been impacted by mental health and substance use disorders. We do this by providing compassionate and evidence-based treatment, aimed at improving the quality of life for those we serve.
We are currently seeking a Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) – Child Welfare to join our Addiction Recovery Services Program. This position is designed for an individual with lived experience navigating both substance use recovery and the child welfare system, including successfully working toward family stability and reunification.
About the Position
The Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) – Child Welfare supports parents working toward recovery and family stability. Under immediate to general supervision, the PRSS provides peer support services to individuals navigating substance use recovery while involved with the child welfare system.
Using lived experience, the PRSS offers encouragement, mentorship, and guidance as parents work toward recovery goals and family reunification. The PRSS assists clients in identifying recovery goals, staying engaged in services, and connecting with community resources that support recovery and parenting success.
Through a philosophy of integrated care, the PRSS promotes hope, resilience, and long-term recovery for individuals and their families.
About the Program
The Addiction Recovery Services Program at Hope Community Services supports individuals impacted by substance use and co-occurring disorders. Our program works collaboratively with community partners to provide resources, support, and evidence-based services that promote recovery and long-term wellness.
As a Peer Recovery Support Specialist, you will help foster a supportive, recovery-focused environment where individuals feel understood and empowered. Through shared lived experience, encouragement, and advocacy, you will assist clients in developing recovery skills, connecting with community resources, and working toward long-term stability and wellness.
Requirements
Demonstrated recovery from a mental health or substance use disorder
HS Diploma or GED
Reliable transportation
Lived experience navigating the child welfare system and successfully working toward family reunification is preferred
Skills
Ability to build rapport and maintain positive relationships with clients, employers, and colleagues.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with a diverse range of individuals.
Empathy and Compassion
Must be efficient in managing multiple tasks, maintaining accurate records, and meeting deadlines.
