Job Brief:
This role is responsible for day-to-day processing of assigned payroll activities for the ANZ region. The role will also further support other members of the team by providing process guidance and leverage on expertise to solve complex process issues in compliance with relevant local regulations, policies, procedures, and methodologies support with the necessary audit requirements.
Responsibilities & Duties:
• Perform complex payroll activities in compliance with established procedures, strategies, and methodologies.
• Perform taxation, legislative and statutory obligations, effective processing and preparation of returns, documents management, and maintenance of key processes.
• Lead and support in ensuring up-to-date processes and compliance with legislative, award, and other region-specific changes for accurate payroll processing.
• Contribute as subject matter expert by applying technical expertise in the overall payroll process.
• Provide guidance and technical expertise to junior members of the team regarding query resolutions for unique cases and process exceptions, completing projects, and performing (sub-process) activities.
• Develop and prepare multiple reports, analyses, and presentations for periodic and ad hoc requirements.
•  Address critical and unique issues with the guidance of Team Lead for timely resolution of escalated issues. Identify risks and propose ways to prevent occurrence of similar issues and concerns.
• Work with Team Lead to develop process improvement initiatives to streamline processes, improve customer experience, and increase productivity.
• Finalize changes/updates and responsible in 1st level approval for updated or newly created SOP/DTP.
• Resolve identified issues and keep the Team Lead updated for open or ongoing concerns.
• Be involved in various and simultaneous process improvement initiatives to streamline processes, improve customer experience, and increase productivity.
• Lead in finalizing and review of SOX audit-related activities
• Perform complex tasks in compliance with service level agreement, process, policies, procedures, and SOX & internal controls.
• Lead and support key projects, audit reviews, activities, and documentation.
• Provide education and training to team on legislation that affects the payroll up to date by research and subscriptions as well as attendance at various workshops and training seminars
• Providing accurate and timely payroll information and reports to stakeholders as needed
• Planning staff workload on a daily basis and assisting them in the completion of assigned tasks and duties within reported deadlines.
• Monitor and respond to Employee Centre support requests as it pertains to Payroll Services
• Lead the implementation of assigned project activities and support in continuous improvement efforts
 
 
• Bachelor’s Degree or at least 7 years of relevant work experience to Payroll
• Must have experience in processing ANZ, region payroll, exposure to end-to-end payroll processing is preferred
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Office tools  
• Basic knowledge and understanding of HR processes and procedures
• Must have experience in a high-volume/high-headcount payroll processing
• Experience in using Empower/ Easy Pay, ADP, Global view, Celegro and Workday or other Payroll Systems
• Experience in Oracle System is a plus
• Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
