The Human Resources Division is responsible for managing the department’s workforce, which includes the entire employee lifecycle from recruiting and hiring to development, and offboarding. Key functions include managing compensation and benefits, overseeing payroll, and partnering with internal commands to foster positive employee relations.
The Compensation and Benefits Unit is seeking candidates to fill the following roles.
Payroll Auditors/Analysts
The Payroll Auditor will be responsible for the following:
- Reconciliation of payroll reports for all Civilian and Uniform NYPD titles for both Active and Inactive employees,
- Process one-time payments, one-time deductions, retro pay/leave triggers, and approval of payroll transactions.
- Review pending annual and bi-annual payments made to all eligible Civilian and Uniform titles,
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and communicate resolutions with different commands.
- Audit all payroll transactions on 160/161 “Pending Pay Detail Report”,
- Review biweekly paychecks to avoid underpayments or overpayments, generating supplemental paychecks as required.
- Assisting in audits of sick/workers compensation grants payments for civilian members of service and will respond to all payroll inquiries.
- Act as liaison between all NYPD commands city-wide and the various internal Payroll/Timekeeping Units to resolve issues as they occur.
