We’re seeking a Payroll & Accounts Payable Officer to support our US operations from San Diego. This role works closely with our New Zealand head office, so some overlap with NZ working hours is required.
You’ll play a key role in supporting US payroll through our PEO partner, TriNet, while also contributing to accounts payable and finance processes.

What you’ll be doing
Support US & Canadian payrolls via our PEOs – coordinate inputs, review outputs, and ensure accuracy and compliance
Manage payroll queries – act as a key contact for US employees and liaise with TriNet
Support accounts payable – process invoices, payments, and supplier reconciliations
Oversee expenses & corporate cards – review, approve, and ensure policy compliance
Assist with month-end – support reconciliations and financial reporting
Collaborate globally – work closely with NZ Finance and HR teams
Drive improvements & compliance – strengthen processes and maintain controls
What you’ll bring
3–5+ years’ experience in US payroll and/or accounts payable
Experience working with a PEO (TriNet highly regarded)
Strong understanding of US payroll processes and compliance
Experience with finance/payroll systems and Excel proficiency
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
Comfortable working across time zones and managing priorities
Clear communicator who can build relationships across teams
