Job Description

Patriot Truss & Components is looking for a Lumber Estimator. This role is responsible for accurately analyzing blueprints, project plans, and material specifications to prepare lumber and building material estimates. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of residential or commercial construction, attention to detail, and experience in lumber takeoffs or estimating software.

Responsibilities:

Prepare accurate material take-offs and cost estimates for residential and commercial projects

Research product availability, pricing, and delivery timelines with suppliers

Review blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine lumber requirements

Track changes and update estimates as needed

Assist sales and project teams with bids and proposals

Requirements

The minimum work week to consist of Monday-Friday.

Normal hours 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Additional hours may be required at times to meet deadlines

Knowledge of basic building concepts and math calculations

Experience in estimating, construction, or lumber/building supply industry

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents

Be tentative via phone on vacation in case of an emergency

Attending weekly meetings as needed. If a meeting cannot be made a 24-hour notice will be needed
