Job Title: Patient Service Coordinator
Work Days: Monday-Friday
Hours: Must have availability between the hours of 8am-7pm, 40 hours per week
Position Type: Full time, hourly position is open in our friendly Integrative Medical Facility for Counselors, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Physician Assistants, and Recovery Professionals.
Who we are: Wisdom Traditions Counseling Services provides Alaska State certified and CARF nationally accredited outpatient programs, including tele-health services for patients who are appropriate for that platform. Our integrated approach to patient care includes the treatment of behavioral health, addiction, care coordination for primary care medical, and medication management. Essential Job Function: The Patient Service Coordinator will assist with patient encounters and provide patient support services to ensure that each experience is positive, professional and efficient. Fulfill revenue cycle related requirements for optimal reimbursement.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
Scheduling patient appointments, coordinating care with other services/agencies and minimizing access delays
Processing incoming referrals, triaging patient telephone calls, collecting and/or updating demographic and financial information
Investigating pre-authorizations and approval for insurance
Checking in patients
Processing co-pays and patient charge documents
Utilizing systems and resources to improve processes and efficiency of the patient experience
Required Education/Experience: -
Minimum of 1 year of recent front desk/receptionist experience within the last 3 years in a healthcare or professional office setting.
Experience must include scheduling, phones, patient/client check-in, and handling payments.
Experience with technology systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and scheduling software
Please note: Completion of medical assistant training or schooling alone does not count as front desk/receptionist experience. We are specifically looking for applicants who have direct, hands-on front desk experience in the past 5 years.
Preferred Experience:
Associate Degree
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working in a mental health care/recovery setting or related field
Significant experience working with the general public in a health care/customer service environment
Familiarity with other cultures
Demonstrate Ability to Perform:
Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft suite
Experienced with Electronic Health Records systems
Competent with PC and Mobile platforms
Excellent organizational skills
Strong communication, interpersonal skills
Function independently in office
Function collaboratively with professional counseling team
Must be willing to work with patients who present with addiction and maladaptive behaviors
MUST PASS A STATE OF ALASKA BACKGROUND CHECK and work references required.
