Our client is looking for a Patient Engagement Specialist who plays a crucial role in ensuring seamless interactions with patients while optimizing the operational flow within the dental practice.

This position requires expertise in utilizing dental practice management software, including OpenDental, and ideally, proficiency in processing insurance claims. Familiarity with additional platforms such as Dentrix, EagleSoft, CurveDental, or Denticon is highly desirable. The incumbent will be a vital link between patients, administrative processes, and the dental care team, contributing to an exceptional patient experience and efficient practice operations.

Job Responsibilities

• Patient Communication and Coordination: Facilitate effective patient engagement by scheduling appointments, addressing inquiries, and maintaining accurate patient records using OpenDental and other relevant software.
• Insurance Claims Processing: Leverage expertise in insurance claim procedures to assist in processing claims accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely reimbursement for dental services.
• Software Proficiency: Utilize OpenDental, Dentrix, EagleSoft, CurveDental, Denticon, or other applicable software platforms to manage patient information, appointments, billing, and insurance details.
• Appointment Scheduling: Coordinate patient appointments, optimizing the scheduling system to manage patient flow and provider availability.
• Billing and Financial Support: Collaborate with patients to explain treatment costs, billing inquiries, and insurance coverage, ensuring a clear understanding of financial responsibilities.
• Patient Education: Educate patients about recommended treatments, oral hygiene practices, and post-treatment care, enhancing patient understanding and compliance.
• Workflow Optimization: Contribute to practice efficiency by streamlining administrative processes, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the dental team's needs.
• Documentation: Maintain thorough and organized records, including patient histories, treatment plans, and insurance documentation.
• Collaboration: Liaise with the dental team to ensure seamless patient care coordination and efficient practice operations.
• Customer Service Excellence: Deliver outstanding customer service by addressing patient concerns, maintaining a positive demeanor, and fostering a welcoming and friendly environment.


Requirements:
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a dental practice or healthcare setting, with a focus on patient engagement, appointment scheduling, and administrative support.
• Demonstrated proficiency in using OpenDental is essential. Prior experience with Dentrix, EagleSoft, CurveDental, Denticon, or similar dental practice management software is highly desirable.
• Preferably, prior experience processing insurance claims within a dental practice environment.
• Dental Practice Software Proficiency: Demonstrated experience with OpenDental is essential. Familiarity with Dentrix, EagleSoft, CurveDental, Denticon, or similar software is highly advantageous.
• Insurance Claims Processing: Preferred experience in processing insurance claims within a dental practice setting.
• Patient-Centric Approach: A strong commitment to patient satisfaction, communication, and engagement.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ensuring effective interactions with patients, team members, and insurance providers.
• Customer Service Excellence: Demonstrates a positive, friendly, and professional demeanor, ensuring exceptional patient experience

Minimum Technical and Work Environment Requirements:

• Internet Connection:
• Primary internet connection with a minimum speed of 15 Mbps.
• Backup internet connection with at least 10 Mbps.
• Backup connection must be capable of supporting work during a power outage.

• Primary Device:
• Desktop or laptop equipped with at least:
• Intel Core i5 (8th generation or newer), Intel Core i3 (10th generation or newer), AMD Ryzen 5, or an equivalent processor.
• A minimum of 8 GB RAM.

• Backup Device:
• Must meet or exceed the performance of an Intel Core i3 processor.
• Must be functional during power interruptions.

• Peripherals and Workspace:
• A functioning webcam.
• A noise-canceling USB headset.
