This position is work from home based in the mid USA timezone(s) to accommodate teams work schedules.
Working Hours: Total 37.5 actual working hours per week, or 7.5 hours per day (not including a 1 hour break).
About this Role
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Pathologist Coordinator to join our Pathology Services team. The Pathologist Coordinator will play a crucial role in managing the credentialing and onboarding of US-based pathologists with hospitals, ensuring all required documentation, licensing, and compliance requirements are completed accurately and efficiently. This role will serve as a central point of coordination between pathologists, hospital credentialing teams, and internal stakeholders.. The role also involves assisting in the management of pathology cases, including coordinating case allocation and tracking case progress and turnaround times. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with both pathologists and hospital staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate credentialing application processes for pathologists.
Facilitate effective communication with pathologists.
Serve as a point of contact for pathologists to address queries and concerns.
Ensure that pathologists receive necessary information and updates related to their work.
Assist in the onboarding process for new pathologists, providing them with the necessary resources, training, and guidance.
Work closely with the Commercial Team to ensure sufficient capacity and coverage.
Monitor the progress of cases assigned to pathologists.
Follow up with pathologists to ensure that cases are reported within established turnaround times.
Address any obstacles or delays in the reporting process and work to resolve them promptly.
Communicate with hospitals to gather updates on cases that pathologists are working on.
Follow up on requests from pathologists for additional materials or information from hospitals.
Maintain accurate records of communications, case status, and pathologist interactions.
Assistance in billing queries.
Compilation of validation materials.
Liaising with logistics on deliveries.
Prepare reports and summaries, as needed, to assist in tracking case progress and department performance.
Collaborate with the Pathologist Manager to implement quality control measures and process improvements.
Participate in regular departmental meetings to discuss performance metrics and identify areas for enhancement.
About You (Skills and Experience):
A Bachelor's Degree in a life-sciences undergraduate qualification (e.g. biology, microbiology, toxicology, biochemistry, or pharmacology) is desired but not required.
A heightened sense of urgency and focus is essential.
Proficiency with basic computer programming skills, including basic Microsoft Office applications, e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
Ability to work both independently and with a team as well as the ability to manage up
Must be self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take ownership
Must be effective at time management and personal organization / planning
Prior experience in healthcare or pathology services is a plus.
