🚀 We’re seeking a seasoned Patent Attorney with proven expertise in IP strategy development and global implementation for APIs. If you excel in partnering across Legal, R&D, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs, Portfolio, and Commercial teams to provide patent support for product development and commercialization worldwide, this leadership opportunity is designed for you. 🌍💡

🎯 Key Responsibilities:

• Provide end-to-end support to Portfolio, R&D, Marketing, Regulatory Affairs and Commercial Associates from initiation of the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) project through launch.
• Conduct FTO analysis and patentability assessments
• Patent drafting and prosecution.
• Determine launch strategy, assess risk associated with launch and manufacturing of the API and address these risks. 
• Collaborate with outside counsel to determine/develop positions to relevant patents and manage oppositions and litigations worldwide, including European Patent Office Oppositions and similar actions in National patent offices
• Manage outside counsel opinion to ensure high quality work product on time and within budget.

• Strong interpersonal skills, able to influence internal and external stakeholders. This individual will be highly visible at all levels of the organization and must be able to build trust and credibility.
• Strong written and communication skills, including presentation skills.
• Strong business acumen.
• Techniques to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and adjust to changing priorities.
• Ability to think strategically and tackle complex problems
• Ability to identify, advise on, minimize business risks, and propose practical solutions
• Strong customer-orientation; an ability to see issues from the point of view of others
• Ability to work successfully and cooperatively with colleagues across multiple cultures and time-zones
• Up to 10% travel, including international, as needed.

The ideal candidate must be:

🎓 Qualified Indian Patent Attorney. Advanced degree in relevant science preferred.

• Minimum of 10-12 years prior patent experience required• Preference for significant patent experience working with small molecule pharmaceuticals
• Preference for prior in-house patent experience
