Oaks Queenstown Shores Resort are looking for a skilled and passionate Pastry Chef to join our culinary team on a full-time basis.

This role involves creating high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods while supporting smooth kitchen operations. Flexibility across breakfast, lunch, and dinner service may be required.

As a valued team member, you will contribute to exceptional dining experiences by:

• Preparing, baking, and presenting pastries, desserts, and specialty baked items to high standards
• Assisting in menu development and creation of seasonal offerings
• Maintaining consistency, quality, and presentation across all products
• Ensuring compliance with hygiene, safety, and storage standards
• Collaborating with the kitchen team to deliver an exceptional guest experience

About the Venue

Our recently refurbished property introduces a sophisticated dining and bar experience, showcasing panoramic views over Lake Wakatipu.

• Newly refurbished, upscale hotel food and beverage operation
• Curated wine cellar featuring some of New Zealand’s finest wines
• Seasonal menu by Chef Gerhard Gerber, focused on seasonal New Zealand seafood, meats, and produce

Shift Details (subject to change):

• Full time position
• Must be available to work weekends

Successful candidates will have:

• Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role in a professional kitchen
• Strong technical skills in baking, patisserie, and dessert preparation
• Creativity and attention to detail in presentation and flavour
• Professional presentation, excellent communication, and teamwork skills
• Reliability and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced kitchen
• Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
