A Parts Shipper/Receiver manages the inbound and outbound movement of inventory, ensuring accurate packing, shipping, and receiving of parts. They verify shipments for damage/accuracy, update inventory systems, load/unload trucks, and maintain a tidy shipping and receiving area. Key responsibilities include preparing shipping documents, managing inventory, and using material handling equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving: Unload incoming shipments, inspect for damage, verify quantities against packing slips/invoices, and document discrepancies.
Shipping: Pack, seal, and label parts for outgoing orders, generate shipping documents (bills of lading, invoices), and arrange courier pickups.
Inventory Control: Stock received parts into appropriate warehouse locations, perform inventory counts, and track stock levels to report shortages.
Order Picking: Retrieve parts from inventory to fill orders for internal technicians or external customers.
Equipment Operation: Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move goods.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing goods using computer systems or manual logs.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Experience: Previous warehouse, shipping/receiving, or inventory experience (often 1-3 years). We will however train the right candidate.
Skills: Strong attention to detail, basic math, and computer proficiency (e.g., MS Office, inventory software).
Physical Ability: Ability to lift heavy items (often up to 60 lbs) and stand for long periods.
Typical Working Conditions
Requires working with tight deadlines to ensure timely shipping/receiving.
Must have excellent communication skills when dealing with the dealerships wholesale accounts.
