Job Summary:
An automotive Parts Counter Advisor manages vehicle parts inventory, assists customers in selecting the correct parts, and ensures smooth operations between the parts department and service teams. Assures proper control of parts inventory and related administrative functions.
Job Description:
Customer Support: Advises customers on the correct automotive parts and accessories, providing technical guidance and recommendations based on vehicle specifications and repair needs
Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, order parts as needed, organize the stockroom, and maintain accurate records to prevent shortages or overstock
Technical Assistance: Provide expert advice to technicians and customers, ensuring compatibility of parts and supporting efficient repair and maintenance workflows
Sales and Transactions: Process sales, handle payments, manage returns, and deal with warranty claims for defective or incorrect parts
Administrative Duties: Maintain customer records, update inventory management systems, and ensure accurate invoicing and billing related to parts
Coordination: Work closely with service advisors and technicians to align parts availability with repair schedules and minimize workshop downtime
Alert management of all parts returns from customers internal and external
Alert management of any damage claims needing to be filed
Required Skills/Abilities:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
Valid in-state driver's license and an acceptable, safe driving record
Ability to interpret vendor catalogs.
Ability to use parts department computer system
Good communication and organizational skills
