JOB SUMMARY
The Part-Time Activities Aide supports the delivery of youth programs by assisting with daily activities, student supervision, and program operations. Working under the direction of the Education Director, this position helps create a safe, structured, and engaging environment for students while supporting academic, recreational, and enrichment activities. The role includes working with small groups, assisting with larger group activities, and contributing to the overall success of the program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Support and supervise students during daily program activities, ensuring a safe and structured environment
Assist with the setup and cleanup of program spaces, materials, and equipment
Prepare activity materials, including copies and instructional resources
Work with small groups of students to support learning, engagement, and participation
Assist in leading crafts, recreational activities, academic support sessions, and other program components
Monitor student behavior and reinforce program rules and expectations consistently
Collaborate with staff to support student development and program effectiveness
Serve as a positive role model through professional and respectful interactions with students, families, and staff
Assist with special events, activities, and program initiatives as needed
Provide occasional transportation support for students using PRCI vehicles, as assigned
Assist with meal and snack preparation and distribution
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities
Support departmental operations through additional duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or GED required
Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with children or youth programs
Ability to effectively supervise and engage youth in a structured environment
Ability to manage student behavior and maintain a safe, respectful setting
CPR, First Aid Certification, and Food Handler’s License required (training will be provided if not currently certified)
Basic proficiency with standard office and communication tools (e.g., Word, Outlook, email, internet-based systems)
Valid, unrestricted driver’s license
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and comprehensive background check
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience supporting educational, recreational, or youth development programs
Familiarity with Tribal communities, culture, or youth programming environments

TRIBAL PREFERENCE STATEMENT:
In accordance with applicable Tribal law and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians (PRCI) Administration provides employment preference to enrolled PRCI Tribal Members. To qualify, applicants must submit valid proof of enrollment. Tribal Members who meet the minimum qualifications will be given preference in hiring, promotion, transfer, and layoff decisions. During the interview process, PRCI Tribal Members will receive an additional 7.5 points (10% of the 75-point interview rubric). Non-PRCI Native American candidates will receive an additional 5 points (6.7% of the total points) in accordance with Indian Preference guidelines.
INDIAN PREFERENCE STATEMENT:
In compliance with 25 CFR Part 276 and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Sections 701(b) and 703(i), employment preference shall be given to qualified applicants who are enrolled members of the Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians, and secondarily, to another qualified American Indian/Alaska Native Candidate.
