Primary Responsibilities:
The Paramedic provides high-quality patient care and clinical support under the direction of licensed providers. This role leverages advanced emergency medical training to assist with patient assessments, treatments, and procedures in a fast-paced outpatient environment, ensuring safe, efficient, and compassionate care.
Perform patient intake, vital signs, medical histories, and basic assessments
Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and minor treatments
Administer medications, injections, IV therapy, and other treatments within scope of practice
Respond to urgent or emergent patient situations in the clinic, initiating appropriate stabilization measures
Provide wound care, EKGs, splinting, and other clinical interventions as needed
Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care
Accurately document patient encounters in the electronic medical record (EMR)
Maintain compliance with clinical protocols, regulatory requirements, and privacy standards (HIPAA)
Follow infection control, safety, and quality assurance procedures
Support chart audits, quality initiatives, and clinical workflows
Prepare exam rooms, maintain medical supplies, and ensure equipment readiness
Coordinate patient flow to optimize provider efficiency and reduce wait times
Communicate effectively with providers, nurses, front-office staff, and external partners
Assist with referrals, lab coordination, and follow-up communications
Participate in training, staff meetings, and process improvement efforts
Job Experience
Current Paramedic license/certification (Louisiana)
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Experience in emergency medical services, urgent care, or clinical healthcare
Strong clinical judgment, communication, and patient service skills
Ability to work effectively in a team-based outpatient environment
Prior experience in a clinic, urgent care, or physician office setting
Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR)
Experience with IV therapy, EKG interpretation, phlebotomy, or minor procedures
Behavioral Skills
