Role Overview
We are seeking a Panchang Siddhanta and Muhurat Shastra expert with strong expertise in calendrical computation and auspicious timing selection.
In this role, you will create structured evaluation problems involving both precise Panchang calculations and applied Muhurat decision-making. Your work will ensure accurate coverage of classical timing principles including Tithi, Nakshatra, Yoga, Karana, and derived timing systems used for selecting auspicious dates for life events.
Responsibilities:
• Create 15–20 evaluation problems per month covering Panchang computation and Muhurat selection
• Design problems involving:
• Tithi computation from Sun–Moon angular separation
• Nakshatra identification and Pada determination
• Yoga and Karana computation
• Rahu Kaal, Yamaghanda, and Gulika Kaal calculation
• Daytime and nighttime Choghadiya sequences
• Abhijit Muhurat computation
• Hora (planetary hour) sequencing
• Create Muhurat-selection scenarios for events such as marriage, house entry, business start, naming ceremony, travel, medical procedures, and religious rites
• Produce decision-based problems involving competing astrological constraints requiring prioritization
• Include location-specific problems requiring sunrise/sunset determination for different Indian cities
• Document major Muhurat Doshas (e.g., Vishti Karana, Bhadra, Panchaka) and their avoidance rules
• Verify all timings using at least one authoritative Panchang reference tool
Commitments Required: 8 hours per day with an overlap of 4 hours with PST.
Employment type: Contractor assignment (no medical/paid leave)
Duration of contract: 6-8 weeks
Location: India
Requirements:
• Formal training in Panchang Siddhanta from a recognized institution, teacher, or Gurukula lineage
• Minimum 5 years of active Muhurat consultation practice
• Ability to compute Tithi from first principles (Sun–Moon elongation ÷ 12°)
• Strong knowledge of major Muhurat Doshas and their exception rules
• Understanding of regional Panchang variations such as:
• Amanta vs Purnimanta systems
• Shalivahana Shaka vs Vikram Samvat
• Ability to determine sunrise/sunset timings for different geographic latitudes
