Business Need / Purpose of Role:
The Regional Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager - Americas is the local owner of the regional receivables management. This role will also act as a single point of contact for all matters relating to Customer billing and Collections. This role demands:
Business partnering with Area Managers / Area Finance Managers and regional management to provide transparency and accurate information customer accounts
Take corrective actions for any disputes / queries from customers and escalate to operations / commercial leaders as necessary
Coordination with global AR team, ROC, Operations, local finance and DA team for an effective information and process flow.
Creation of a business platform to address the process gap and roadblocks for effective control on receivables
Manage receivables ageing and minimize the turnaround of cash cycle
Key Accountabilities:
Independently manage the AR for the Region by acting as the first point of contact for regional management on all AR matters
Exploring opportunities for effective dispute management by working with business partners, identifying root cause analysis and build long term solutions.
Implement and improve E2E process from FDA dispatch to customers, query/dispute
management, collections, and allocation of cash
Maintain complete, accurate, and up-to-date statement of accounts to guide customers, Commercial, and Operations as well as concurrently managing exposures
Engage with local finance teams to understand the roadblocks and address the gaps on both collections and cash applications.
Drive collections strategy by monitoring global KPI’s.
Build long-term customer / stakeholder relationship to improve collection life cycle.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Good knowledge in OTC
Well versed in financial ERPs
Proven track record in receivables management (collections / query management)
Ability to work independently with limited supervision, multitask and possess strong initiative, exercise independent judgment within established systems and procedures
Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple competing priorities
Ability to balance multiple tasks, changing priorities & operate within a deadline-oriented environment
Ability to think logically, establish and follow procedures, instructions and make sound decisions
Possess organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize, be detail oriented and results driven
Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
Strong interpersonal skills including excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent customer service and communication skills, including strong verbal and listening skills
Must possess an advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook
Bilingual in English and Spanish (written, verbal, reading) required and value Portuguese a plus.
Experience in customer-facing role a must
Business relationship building - with customers both in finance and management
Knowledge of Sidetrade tool
Exposure to data analytics tools like Power BI, Tableau etc.
Education, Qualifications, Certifications, and Licenses:
Minimum of 5 – 7 years of experience at senior / managerial level
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related major in a public or accredited private academic institution required, Master’s degree preferred.
Previous experience in Shipping, Freight Forwarding, or Transportation/Logistics preferred, but not required.
