As a Paid Social Media Specialist, you will be responsible for the end-to-end activation, optimisation and performance delivery of paid social campaigns, primarily across Meta and TikTok, with working capability across LinkedIn, Snapchat and Pinterest.

You will deliver accurate campaign setup, pacing, troubleshooting and optimisation, and produce clear performance reporting and commentary. You will work closely with onshore teams and offshore support to deliver high-quality outcomes at scale, while contributing to operational excellence, best practice and continuous improvement.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Industry leadership: Work at the forefront of digital innovation within one of the most dynamic and fast-growing markets. Stay informed about emerging platform capabilities, measurement changes, and industry trends impacting paid social performance in New Zealand and globally.

• Professional growth: Leverage cutting-edge tools and platforms, including Meta, TikTok, and additional paid social platforms (LinkedIn, Snap, Pinterest). Use platform automation and AI-enabled features (e.g., automated rules, bid strategies, campaign/creative optimisations) to improve performance and workflow efficiency.

• Impactful collaborations: Collaborate with internal teams (strategy, planning, creative, analytics) and offshore activation support to deliver consistent, high-quality output. Contribute to a culture of test-and-learn and performance excellence across accounts.

Core Skills Required:

• 2–3 years of hands-on paid social experience(agency experience preferred).

• Strong expertise in planning, activating, and optimising paid social campaigns across key platforms (especially Meta and TikTok; plus LinkedIn, Snapchat, Pinterest).

• Strong understanding of performance metrics and optimisation levers (e.g., CPA, ROAS, CTR, CPM, CVR).

• Proven ability to manage budgets, pacing and QA to ensure campaigns are implemented to best practice standards.

• Proficiency in performance reporting and data analysis (often in Microsoft Excel), with exceptional attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; able to explain performance drivers and recommended actions clearly.

• Comfortable working across multiple accounts/priorities while maintaining high-quality outputs.

• New Zealand media agency experience.

• Understanding of tracking and measurement implementation (e.g., Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, GTM).

• Experience using reporting/measurement tools (e.g., GA4, Looker Studio).

• Experience working with offshore teams and structured delivery models.

In Depth, this role will focus on

Product

• Responsible for end-to-end set up of paid social campaigns across relevant platforms (Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Pinterest).

• Ensure regular quality assurance (QA) checks are undertaken (locally and with offshore support) so campaigns are set up to defined best practice standards.

• Monitor campaign performance and pacing to ensure all activity delivers as expected; troubleshoot and optimise as necessary to improve outcomes.

• Support full-funnel activity (prospecting, retargeting, conversion) aligned to client objectives and KPIs.

• Identify opportunities to test and innovate in the paid social space; share recommendations with stakeholders and support client backing where required.

• Work with your line-manager to develop and implement testing/learning agendas that drive clear and actionable insight on each platform.

Partners

• Building and maintaining relationships with key media partners including Meta, Snap, TikTok, Pinterestand others as required.

• Collaborate with platform representatives and internal stakeholders to stay across best practices and beta opportunities.

• Act as a paid social point-of-contact for internal teams, ensuring continuing confidence in the quality of activation and reporting outputs.

Profitability

• Ensure accurate and timely fulfilment of mandatory agency finance processes related to campaign delivery (pacing, reporting accuracy, and budget reconciliation).

• Work with offshore and local teams to ensure processes are followed to minimise finance queries and enable smooth invoicing/payment cycles.

People

• Work closely with your line-manager to ensure workloads are prioritised, deadlines are met, and quality standards are maintained.

• Participate in internal meetings and training sessions to contribute to a collaborative and friendly paid social community.

• Support junior team members (where applicable) through consistent ways of working, documentation, and best practice guidance.

Growth & Marketing

• Share relevant and insightful commentary internally for the broader agency (platform changes, learnings, performance insights).

• Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify and showcase examples of great work from within the team.
