Band 7 Specialist Paediatric Occupational Therapist – Neurological Lead
Location: London Borough of Hounslow
Contract: Locum
Hours: Full-time (Monday to Friday)
Our client is seeking an experienced Band 7 Specialist Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join their dynamic Children’s Therapy Service in Hounslow. This is an exciting opportunity to lead on neurological conditions within a multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality care to children and their families across community, school, and clinical settings.
Key Responsibilities:
• Act as the Neurological Lead OT, providing specialist assessment, treatment, and advice for children with complex neurological needs.
• Lead and develop the Upper Limb Intervention Clinic, including standardized assessments, splint fabrication, and intervention planning.
• Work within multi-disciplinary diagnostic clinics for babies and young children with emerging neurological conditions.
• Manage a complex caseload of children with neurological and developmental disabilities across community settings.
• Provide structured training and advice to parents, carers, and education staff to support functional development and inclusion.
• Contribute to clinical research, audits, and service development, ensuring evidence-based practice.
• Offer clinical supervision to junior staff and OT students.
Requirements:
• HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
• Significant experience in paediatric occupational therapy, with expertise in neurological conditions.
• Advanced skills in upper limb assessment and intervention, including splinting.
• Strong understanding of multi-disciplinary working and statutory education processes.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and clinical reasoning skills.
