Senior Paediatric Occupational Therapist – Maternity Cover
Location: Claremorris, Co Mayo
Contract: Fixed Term (Maternity Cover from mid-November 2025)
Hours: Part-time, 28 hours per week (flexible options available)

Sensational Kids, Ireland’s leading non-profit child development clinic, is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join their friendly team in Claremorris, Co Mayo. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a modern, bespoke therapy facility that includes a large sensory motor gym, consultation rooms, and dedicated spaces for families and staff.
Key Responsibilities
•
Deliver family-centred therapy through assessments and interventions for children and adolescents.
•
Provide onsite support and supervision for basic grade Occupational Therapists, including remote supervision.
•
Collaborate within the Occupational Therapy and wider multidisciplinary team to enhance service delivery.
•
Support colleagues with guidance, consultation, and training.
•
Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and parent/teacher training sessions.
•
Maintain accurate documentation using clinical records systems.
•
Contribute to service development, CPD opportunities, and occasional workshops for parents and educators.
•
Ensure therapy rooms and equipment are maintained to a high standard.
Qualifications & Experience
•
Degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Therapy, validated for practice in Ireland.
•
Minimum of 4+ years’ post-qualification experience in paediatric OT (preferred).
•
Experience working with children with neurodiverse conditions, autism, sensory processing disorders, and Down syndrome.
•
Ayres Sensory Integration® training desirable.
•
ADOS/ADIR training desirable but not essential.
•
Accredited membership with AOTI and CORU registration (essential).
•
Garda Vetting clearance and satisfactory references required.
•
Access to own car for travel purposes.
•
Strong commitment to paediatric OT and ongoing professional development.
