Required Skills
Job Description
If you enjoy the kind of work where progress is measured in small, meaningful moments—first words written, first time tying shoelaces, first day settling into school—this role is built around exactly that.
This Canberra-based paediatric clinic has a strong reputation with local families and schools, largely because of its consistent, relationship-focused approach. It’s not a high-turnover environment—both clinicians and families tend to stay.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll step into an established paediatric caseload, working with children across early intervention and school-aged support. Presentations include developmental delays, sensory processing, emotional regulation and functional skill development.
Sessions are a mix of clinic-based therapy and community work (schools, homes), depending on what’s most beneficial for the child.
What makes this clinic different
• Therapy is paced properly—no pressure to rush sessions
• Caseloads are introduced gradually, not overloaded from week one
• Strong collaboration with families, educators and support networks
• Resources and therapy spaces are well set up and thoughtfully designed
About the team
The team is experienced, supportive and easy to work with. There’s a strong culture of sharing ideas and helping each other without overcomplicating things. You’ll have access to senior clinicians for guidance, but you’ll also be trusted to work independently.
Leadership is approachable and focused on keeping workloads sustainable.
What’s on offer
• Competitive salary with achievable incentives
• Flexible working arrangements (full-time or part-time)
• Dedicated admin support
• Professional development allowance + structured mentoring
• Gradual onboarding with a manageable caseload
• Long-term stability within a well-established clinic
About you
• AHPRA registered Occupational Therapist (or eligible)
• Passion for working with children and families
• Strong communication skills and a warm, engaging approach
• Open to clinic and community-based work
