PACU RN Post-Anesthesia Care Phase I/II

• Base Pay: $27.72 – $39.60/hr (experience-based).

• Differentials: +$2.50/hr after 3:00 PM.

• On-Call: $4.00/hr.

• Sign-On Bonus: $15,000 (paid in installments).

• Relocation Assistance: Case-by-case.

About the Role

We are seeking a PACU Registered Nurse (Phase I/II) to join our perioperative care team. This is a full-time role with 10-hour mixed shifts (7–5:30, 8–6:30, 9–7:30, 10–8:30) plus rotating call. RNs must reside within 30 minutes of the facility for on-call response.

This PACU supports diverse, high-acuity surgical populations. Nurses manage a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio and collaborate closely with anesthesia and surgical teams to deliver safe, evidence-based recovery care, including fast-track protocols for appropriate patients.

What You’ll Do

• Manage airways (ETT/LMA), ventilation, hemodynamics, and pain/antiemetic protocols in Phase I/II recovery.

• Provide continuous monitoring (telemetry, pulse oximetry, ETCO2) with rapid recognition and escalation of complications.

• Complete initial wound/line/drain assessments; provide structured PACU handoff and safe transfers using Aldrete/modified Aldrete criteria.

• Deliver patient/family education on recovery, medications, and discharge instructions.

• Collaborate with anesthesia, surgeons, pre-op, and inpatient units to optimize throughput and patient outcomes.

• Participate in performance improvement, auditing, and compliance with sedation/airway safety standards.

Required

• 1+ year recent (within last year) acute care PACU RN experience.

• Active RN (or APRN) license with:

• BLS within 30 days of hire.

• ACLS & PALS within 60 days of hire.

• ASN/ADN or Nursing Diploma (BSN preferred).

Strongly Preferred

• Recent ICU/critical care experience.

• Competence in Phase I recovery, Aldrete scoring, and rapid-recovery pathways.
