Position Overview
We are currently hiring a Packing Operator to support our warehouse operations. In this role, you will report to the Warehouse Supervisor. Training and certification will be provided to the successful candidate.
Duties and Responsibilities
Unpack and separate crates of mixed products to be inspected by QA for incoming products.
Package materials and products manually to prepare goods for shipment as per customer standard.
Perform basic quality control checks which may include measuring, weighing, package counts, and evaluating product or package appearance.
Use computer to process picking orders, print order shipping labels and affix them on the correct orders.
Fold and tape boxes, apply labels/tags, and stack boxes on pallets/crates according to direction.
Preparation of some products may include using rust preventative and other preventative measures to ensure quality such as bubble wrap, mesh sleeving, capping, bagging, etc.
Maintain the 5S standards which includes daily/weekly/quarterly cleaning tasks.
Participate in company safety training activities.
Other tasks assigned by Warehouse Supervisor
Qualifications
One to three years warehouse experience;
Safety Oriented;
Must be physically able to lift up to 40lbs safely and comfortably;
The ability to use a counterbalance or reach forklift considered an asset;
Experience in using RF Scanner;
Outstanding attendance and punctuality are must;
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles would be considered an asset;
Strong communication and organizational skills;
Detail-oriented and transactional accuracy are must;
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced team environment;
Ability to effectively learn and acquire new knowledge and skills;
Self motivated and works well with team members.
Hours of Work
This is a part-time role with hours estimated at 20-30 hours per week
Our warehouse is open from 7:00am-3:30pm Monday-Friday
Schedule will be determined by mutual agreement between the successful candidate and the Warehouse Supervisor (within regular warehouse operating hours)
Compensation
$20.00 per hour
