Packet Core Engineer

Orizon strengthens its team in Athens and is seeks a Packet Core Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and operate the packet core network and mobile broadband services
• Manage suppliers and subcontractors involved in the delivery of products and services related to the packet core network
• Specify and document engineering, operations and change management procedures for the packet core network
• Provide 2nd level support for network and subscriber-related problems
• Participate in projects related to the Mobile Core network of the company
• Test, validate and accept new software versions, functionalities and services
• Participate in the change management process for live network configuration changes
• Assist in troubleshooting resolving network emergency incidents

Necessary skills

• Strong knowledge of 4G EPC & 5G Core architecture and experience in the engineering and operation of their functional elements (MME, DEA/DRA, PGW, PCEF/PCRF etc.)
• Solid understanding and experience in the use of technologies and protocols for the provision of mobile broadband services
• Familiarity with telecommunication standards and documentation (ITU-T, 3GPP, IETF)
• Very good understanding of switching and routing protocols in IP networks (IPv4/IPv6, BGP, OSPF, MPLS/EoMPLS, VLAN etc.)
• Good understanding of Cloud & Virtualization (NFV) technologies

Requirements:
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in Packet Core services or a similar role
• University Degree in Telecommunications, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, IT or a related field
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
• Fluency in English
• Team player with strong collaboration skills
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to resolve issues quickly and effectively
